White Night in Malaga

The night when the streets of Malaga open their spaces to art, theater,?music and magic. If you happen to be in Malaga for the white night, you will be part of one of the most magical cultural evenings of Spain. The tradition started in Paris, on 2002, as the “Nuit Blanche” and it’s been spreading over some of the most important cities of Europe.

In Malaga it is called “La Noche de Blanco”, meaning – The White Night-. This year will be celebrated for seventh time on the 10th of May, from 22:00h to 2:00h. It’s been celebrated on May every year since its first edition on 2008. The main purpose of this initiative is to bringing art closer to the citizens and visitants.

Last year, just during the White Night, the city centre had 170 different activities, spread over 212 spaces, counting with more than 180.000 participants. Most of the activities are complete free, including theatres and museums that usually cost up to 25? per people. As expected, you may find long lines for the most popular activities (usually the most expensive on a normal day).

The Picasso Museum/Picasso Birthplace, the CAC Museum (Contemporary Art), Muelle Uno, the Alcazaba and the night guided visit to the English Cemetery are some of the most popular every year.

This year museums, street workshops, concerts, films, theater?performances, opera will be part of the agenda to the public.
