Marathon Malaga 2014 has become popular and attendance is record high in 2014. More than 2,000 people have signed up for this year’s edition and myself are among again this year. The race in 2013 was a success and 2014 should be even better with a new route.Marathon Malaga 2014 will be held on the 7th December starting from the port area Muelle Uno at 08:30AM. As mentioned, this year enrolled more than 2,000 people and over will be attended by lots of people in the streets. Malaga offers 300 sunny days a year and therefore there should be a good opportunity to run under perfect conditions.
In 2013 the race was won by the Ethiopian runner Wubishet Girum in 2:16:53, which is race record. The Marathon 2013 offered perfect racing conditions with a maximum temperature of 17 degrees and sunshine. At the start of the race at 8:30AM the temperature was 10 degrees.
The 2014 edition of Malaga Marathon offers a new route, it hasent changed much, but the organizers have managed to remove the dreary part of the route, so you dont have to run back and forth several times. The route can be seen here.
It is still possible to register and it costs € 45.00 until the 7th November, after which the price increases to € 60.00. You can register here.
I am fully engaged in training and last year’s first marathon race in 3:28:44 time must be improved to 3:15:00.
