This charming little tapas bar is located in the very heart of Malaga right opposite the Picasso Museum. Here you can taste a wide selection of Spanish delicacies and wines. When you are on a city break in Malaga the first cultural visit is usually the city’s most famous tourist attraction, the Picasso Museum. After spending a couple of hours or more at the museum, we can highly recommend a visit to Pepe, the owner of Bodeguita El Gallo, opposite the Picasso Museum on Calle San Agustin 19.
We all search for authentic restaurants with charm, good food and reasonable prices when we are on city breaks and Bodeguita El Gallo in Malaga offers all three. The owner has decorated the restaurant in typical Spanish style, the food is made using recipes from his mother, and last but not least, the prices are extremely reasonable.
The tapas bar is recommended for anyone and offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a quick tapa with a cold glass of beer at the bar, sit down and enjoy a light meal with different tapas or go up to the restaurant on the first floor and enjoy a typical Spanish meal.
The menu is Spanish, and contains virtually all the classic Spanish dishes, but remember to ask the waiter for more information as they usually offers several dishes that are not to be found on the menu. Bodeguita El Gallo describes itself as specialist in flamenquines, croquetas and omelettes. We highly recommend the croquetas with ham and an omelette with mushrooms.
